By using pod (the iOS and Android apps and the website) you agree to these terms. How personal data is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy. This is an English translation of the Chinese version; if the two differ, the Chinese version prevails.
pod (Potential of Design Limited, a Hong Kong entity; “the platform”) is a marketplace connecting independent designers, partner workshops and buyers. Designers and workshops publish and sell pieces on the platform; buyers discover and buy them here. Users can also publish outfit posts, follow each other and send private messages.
All prices and settlements are in Hong Kong dollars (HKD). Everything the platform sells is physical clothing, delivered by shipping or pick-up; there are no digital goods, subscriptions or in-app purchases in the app (iOS or Android).
Some features are currently offered only in the older version of the pod website (the po-od.com home page) and not in the app (iOS or Android); they are marked “older website only” below.
How a sale works: pieces are sold to you by the platform in its own name — you buy from the platform. Designers and workshops are the platform’s supply partners; the platform pays their share and making fees under a separately signed platform service agreement. A piece may only be listed if it meets the platform’s listing conditions (originality check, the platform’s pricing mechanism).
In the iOS app you can sign in with Apple (Sign in with Apple) or with a Google account; in the Android app and on the website you sign in with a Google account. Signing in either way creates your platform account; you are responsible for activity on it, so please keep the account you sign in with secure. You can browse the feed without signing in; following, posting, buying and similar actions need an account.
You can delete your account in the app at any time: on your profile page, tap “⋯” at the top right (Settings) → “Delete account”. What is deleted and what records are kept is set out in section 7 of the Privacy Policy.
P is the platform’s in-app reward points, pegged at HK$1 = 1P. P comes from promotion rewards (see section 5) and from refunds of the part of a purchase that was paid in P. P cannot be bought with money: cash top-up is not currently available, and there is no way to buy P in the app (iOS or Android).
P is a closed-loop in-app credit:
Fully reserved: for P obtained by topping up with cash (top-up is not currently available), the platform sets aside the full amount at the moment of top-up — the money is not used for operations and stays on the books as the platform’s liability to you. This is a safeguard the platform sets for itself and enforces through its accounting system.
Early-supporter rewards are not currently offered: buying a piece does not earn early-supporter rewards.
Users whose own public content leads others to buy receive P promotion rewards according to the platform’s set split; attribution follows the rules explained in the app.
Promotion rewards are always P. Cash payment for promotion exists only under a separately signed endorsement agreement with the platform, available after meeting the platform’s criteria, and is settled under that agreement — P itself is never exchanged directly for cash.
The platform does not currently offer holding a seat, and takes no deposits (in the app or on the website).
You may request a return or exchange within 7 days of the sale date; pieces made in batches also get at least 5 more days after delivery, whichever is later. After the window, you can contact pod care for case-by-case handling. Intimate apparel and customised pieces cannot be returned or exchanged unless they are faulty or we sent the wrong item. Full rules: returns policy.
Shipping is charged per piece (each piece is its own order) and is shown before you pay:
P can be used toward the price of the piece only, not toward shipping.
The platform does not currently offer any subscription or monthly fee (in the app or on the website).
You keep the copyright in content you publish on the platform (posts, photos, videos, text and so on), and you must have the right to publish it. You grant the platform permission to display, reproduce, transmit and analyse that content within the platform for the purpose of providing the service (including automatically analysing the outfit style in post photos and showing the results); this permission ends when the content is removed, except where retention is required for legal compliance or record-keeping.
Platform content: the platform’s own content — including style cards and their text (the descriptions, tension lines, lineages and explanations of scoring rules, but not the style names themselves), outfit analyses and verdicts (scores, readings and explanations), leaderboards and league results, and the interface design — belongs to pod or its licensors. You may view it for personal use and share your own outfit verdicts using the platform’s sharing features or ordinary screenshots. Without pod’s written permission you may not collect, copy, republish or compile platform content into datasets by automated means or systematic bulk collection, use platform content to train or improve artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models, or reproduce the platform’s verdict service in bulk. Rights in users’ original photos and posts remain as described in the first paragraph of this section.
pod reviews complaints and replies as soon as it can. Complaints: info@po-od.com.
Platform fee = selling price × tier rate: platform-only tier (designer ships) 15%, minimum HK$15; managed tier (pod stores and ships) 22.5%, minimum HK$60. The rate is fixed at the time of sale; changing tiers afterwards does not affect orders already made.
Listing and receiving payment require accepting the Designer / Workshop Platform Service Agreement; Studio (where labels list pieces and get paid) is turned on only after the pod team reviews the application by hand. Payouts also require verification of the payee’s identity (KYC) and meeting the platform’s threshold.
Detailed rights and obligations are set out in that agreement.
Zero tolerance: pod has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent or otherwise objectionable will be removed, and accounts that post it may be suspended or closed.
Reporting and blocking: you can report posts, comments and accounts, and you can block accounts — from the “⋯” menu on a post, the “⋯” menu on the person’s profile, or inside a conversation. Once you block someone, their posts no longer appear in your feed and they can no longer message you. Every report goes to the pod team for review. The pod team can remove content that breaks these rules and, while a case is reviewed, restrict the account (no posting, commenting, messaging or reporting). To prevent spam, each account can publish at most five posts a day, and the same text cannot be posted again within ten minutes.
The platform may, depending on the circumstances, remove content, suspend or end the account, or change the listing eligibility of content, of anyone who breaks these rules.
The platform provides the service as is and does not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the platform is not liable for indirect or consequential loss; liability that cannot be excluded by law (for example, rights consumers have by law) is not affected by this section.
If these terms change materially, the platform will tell you through an in-app notice and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Financial and security notices are essential and are sent regardless of your notification settings.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and disputes arising from them are subject to the jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts. Rights that the law where you live gives consumers, and that cannot be excluded by agreement, are not affected.
